Glorious Things

 Psalm 87 is a wonderful Psalm.  It's about the city of God.  Mount Zion, you know, the church.  It says, "Glorious things of you are spoken, O city of God."  What is this psalm talking about?  We surely don't hear many good things said day to day about the church.  The world

How long?

How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me? (Psalm 13:1)

Isn't this often our cry.  We have our problems, and they stink.  Parents who loose their job, friends who stab us in the back, a boyfriend or girlfriend who dumps us, and to top it all of it seems as if God is against us too.  We've just been through

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits

Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
The God of our salvation!  Selah  
Our God is the God of salvation;
And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death.  (Psalm 68:19-20)

Part of the above is from the Introit from Sunday, Trinity 11, a day which we are loaded with the highest benefit God can grant us lowly sinners -
