Have you ever wonderd what would happen if we replaced all of our leaders (national, state, etc.) with people who weren't politicians? Not necessarily people who don't know anything about leadership, but people who don't play all the games that today's politicians play.
Let's take this further. What if these people started cutting out the government bureaucracies? What if these people refused to listen to lobbyists? That would mess up a lot of stuff...
But overall, it would probably be good for us. It would probably get rid of a lot of the corruption, etc. that plagues us.While I don't think something like this wouldever happen, it's still something interesting to think about.

The world as we know it would fold into on itself....
Take the green pill, Agent!

Like I said, it's just something interesting to think about.
Would you care to explain what you mean by "Take the green pill?"

I do agree, I think it would be refreshing for America to have regular people in office. It would probably produce a lot of good things, and would be wonderful, while it lasted. But as great as it would be- it wouldn't last... eventually we'd just get back to the way things are today. Power corrupts even the most humble...
In a way, I think if there were regular people in office, it would be a lot like America when it was first started. And you see what happened to that...
Our human nature searches for a utopia- a way to make things better... what an intelligent Creator we have! To Instill the yearning for a utopia, only to find that it's impossible on earth...what an awesome God we serve!
That's my two cents for today :P

Your philosophy reminds me a lot of Plato's republic. Basically, "Put philosophers and scribes in office and everything will work!"
But please explain how putting any sinner in office would cease much corruption?

I'm simply saying that putting people in office who actually care about the country might be beneficial. But I do agree, power corrupts. I like how James Madison summed it up: "All people with power ought to be distrusted." and "If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels governed men, neither internal nor external controls on government would be necessary."
Hence all the limitations on government that were placed in the Constitution, and that have been slowly going down to drain.
It would probably also help if people looked beyond party lines and flashy campaigns when they voted. I know, I know, I like to dream about things that aren't going to happen. :P But what are dreams for? :P

You are hereby striked by the commenter of doom. STRIKE!!!!
But in answer to your comment...Yes! I know! I've thought about that..why don't we look at the candidate as a person instead of a 'republican' or a 'democrat' or even a 'Conservative'? Since they are all labels...
Dreams are for making come true! Yay! Make dreams come true! MAKE THEM!!!

Then you haven't truly 'made' them. That is the essence of that beautiful word. Maybe I should use the word force instead...force dreams to come true! FORCE THEM!!!
:D

Who is mostly just kidding about forcing dreams to come true.
