The Flyer Song

Posted At: 8:53am by AgentDelta
There are quite a few songs and videos on the internet written in support of our gallant soldiers. The following video falls into this category, and is specifically written for all of the pilots serving in the American military. Enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHs1K79ZF20&feature=related

Re: The Flyer Song

Wow. It might not make sense, but that song really moved me. Actually, it awoke some old sadness and broken dreams, on a few counts. For one, I know a lot of people in the armed forces or families of them. So I can hear the worries in the words. For the other, though it is more selfish, I used to dream of the skies. I go through phases in my life of interests, and my longest one flew. I spent years dreaming of and reading of flight. I have designed on paper my own gliders. I used to know flight instruments backwards and forwards. And at one time, more than anything, I would have liked to serve as a jet pilot.

Yeah, I know what it's like to have an obsession with flight. For me, it was helicopters. I loved helicopters. I have a rather large book on how to fly them that I have read and reread many times.

As for those in the armed forces: we're all praying for them, and we're all hurt, in some way or another, when one of them falls. That's one of the reasons why I love the song "Somebody's Someone." Reading and thinking about the sacrifices of our soldiers rarely fails to bring tears to my eyes.
