Well, my post comes to you very, very late in the Advent season. I apoligize to the few faithful readers I have! This first semester of college has definitely been a full one.
I finished out the semester with a grade higher than I had expected, especially after I had someone in the art department tell me that I needed to probably change my major. I ended up with a B+ in his class, and I'm going to keep on truckin' with the Graphic Design major. This next semester will be the true test as I will be taking both Intro to Graphic Design and History of Graphic Design, although I'll be way behind if I decide to switch after May! I'll be taking 17 credits next semester. Long story short, God has truly blessed me throughout my first semester of college with great friends and a church that I can faithfully attend.
I'm slowly getting over bronchitis that I contracted the week before finals week. It had me out of my classes for *almost* a full week. I ended up on medication that sent me to the emergency room because I had no idea where I was or what was going on, not to mention I was seeing things that weren't there! Thankfully no permanent damage was done and I was able to go to class the next morning. That's the last time I will ever take anything with a narcotic in it!
I'm currently in Oklahoma celebrating Christmas with the Holbird side of the family. There's nothing like getting together with 21+ of your family members for Christmas dinner. The family's grown the past couple years with my older cousins getting married and having children. It's scary to think that give it another 10 years that it might be me...ack!
The Advent season has wizzed by this year and Christmas is less than two days away now. I missed out on the Advent blog posting, but I thought I'd share one of my favorite hymns from the Christmas season.
1. Now sing we, now rejoice, Now raise to heaven our voice; He from whom joy streameth Poor in a manger lies; Not so brightly beameth The sun in yonder skies. Thou my Savior art! Thou my Savior art!
2. Come from on high to me; I cannot rise to Thee Cheer my wearied spirit, O pure and holy Child; Through Thy grace and merit, Blest Jesus, Lord most mild, Draw me unto Thee! Draw me unto Thee!
3. Now through His Son doth shine The Father's grace divine. Death o'er us had reigned Through sin and vanity; He for us obtained Eternal joy on high. May we praise Him there! May we praise Him there!
4. Oh, where shall joy be found? Where but on heavenly ground? Where the angels singing With all His saints unite, Sweetest praises bringing In heavenly joy and light. Oh, that we were there! Oh, that we were there!
