“If now I seek the forgiveness of sins, I
do not run to the cross, for I will not find it given there… But I will find in
the sacrament or Gospel the word which distributes, presents, offers, and gives
to me that forgiveness which was won on the Cross.” (AE 40, 214)
The Lutheran Confessions state our Christian lives are to be spent acknowledging our sins and praying for God's mercy in Christ. Each day is a day lived out in our baptism, lived out drowning our sins and praying to God for mercy. Mercy is found only in Christ, the place where God shows us His love.
With this in mind... I must acknowledge my own mistakes and failures, specifically in reference to the purple gummy. My wife and future-sister-in-law have ganged up on me and with lights and proofs attacking my theory of the existence of the purple gummy. In the Church, we call that "violet." They say that the gummy in question is pink. In the Church, we call that "rose."
After much research, I am forced to confess that I was ... incorrect. The gummy in question is "rose" and not "violet." My wife and future-sister-in-law were right.
