So, yesterday after my linux posts, Stan began to ride me about how my graphics in Gnome were “boring” and “lame.” Evidently, he was unimpressed with Gnome's fonts and graphics and he took it out on me.
Last week, I spent a Sunday night working to fix a driver problem in linux. ATI and Ubuntu don't get along real well. Well, I fought with it and got it to work.
Last night, after the gentle ribbing by Stan and due to the incredible amount of nervous energy that I had during the Mets game, I got Beryl to work in Linux. Now, my computer acts like... a mac, Vista, and a cube! The fonts are unbelievably crisp! My windows wiggle when I move them, they got cool eyecandy effects, Vista-like transparency, and a bunch of cool things that look just like a mac.....
Even I have to chuckle.... all the coolness of a mac without the price. Lookie, Stan, my Dell looks like your Apple! Linux is freedom...

Stan, isn't it kind of cute how proud Wintel users are when they get their machines to look like a Mac?
By the way, I took possession this week of the new 24" iMac and have the best of both worlds, no fuss, no muss. I toggle over to the Windows XP environment, run my Libronix software, and easily flip back to Mac, share files between the two OS system, etc. etc. etc.
Studies have demonstrated that in fact to achieve the built in abilities that this particularly Mac has, right out of the box, you will spend more money on a Wintel system.
Just give up. Get a Mac. Make your life easier.

Pastor McCain,
I don't have the money for all that new mac-only software!
Why should I spend the money anyway? The hardware is the same. The software behind OS X is basically same as Linux - both are unix based. The effects are the same.
Why oh why would I spend the extra money? When I can do it for free?
And here's the real bonus: If my Dell breaks, they come out and fix it in less than two business days. No mailing it back and waiting... and waiting... and waiting...
Now, y'all do have that cool light up keyboard... (SMILE). So, I can concede that....
Linux, it's like the Gospel, all free.....

How about when my Penguin attacked my iPod?

I was watching Hak5 and they loaded Linux to an iPod and played DOOM on the ipod. I do want to try hacking my PSP with Linux.

I had pondered hacking my Ipaq with Linux, but my PSP has been relegated to part time duty. If I mess my PSP up, I can fix it and not be out my PDA.
