Golden Boot

Today, LSU visits Arkansas.  The winner gets the "Golden Boot."  It is trophy forged for the sole purpose of creating a rival where one didn't exist.  Each year, these two teams close their season against each other - the winner gets the boot.

This year's game is for pride.  LSU has already been elminated from the SEC West Championship.  Arkansas clinched that last week.  The Razorbacks come into this game ranked 5th and holding an outside chance to get into the national championship game.

LSU currently leads the series 9-5.  Today is for pride - winner takes boot.  Geaux Tigers!

I thought you were giong to say you got the "Golden Boot." Blogger Smiley Last week, the Minnesota Goofers beat the Iowa Hawkeyes to claim "Floyd of Rosedale," a bronze pig. I think Michigan has a "little brown jug" in one of their series and Wisconsin has "paul Bunyan's Axe" in another.
