I've gotten numerous requests for how to install Libronix on Ubuntu.... I really didn't do anything special. It has to do with improvements in wine. The easiest way to do this install would be to use crossover office 6.0 beta. That's the pre-configured and easy to use wine. It's pretty basic, you install the software just like you would install it in windows. It'll even set up icons for you. It'll work with the free version of wine, it'll just take a bit of configuring. Here's what I would do...
I'd go to wine's website, it'll tell you the proper repositories for Wine (http://www.winehq.com/site/download-deb). Pick which version of Ubuntu distrobution that you have. Then..open a terminal window and type... sudo cp -p /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list_backup sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list Add the appropriate repository and save and close gedit. Then, back in the terminal... sudo apt-get install wine This will install wine. Run winecfg to configure wine. That will also set up a wine bubble. Make sure it mounts your cdrom. You'll wanna find one of the many guides on installing Internet Explorer in wine. I'd probably use winetools. But, there are other ways of installing IE, like this one.
Then, I'd open nautilus and run the install program for libronix with wine. Then, go to where you installed it and run it in wine. If you need help on making a shortcut, we'll work through that too.
It'll be..
wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Mozilla\ Firefox/firefox.exe
/home/YOURUSERNAMEHERE/.wine/drive_c/Program Files
SIDE NOTE: Bible Works 7.0 works too, but it's VERY buggy. A toolbar doesn't show up. It works well enough to use a bit. I'm gonna stick to 4.0 for now. It works wonderfully in Wine.
And yes... Linux is freedom.

Yes...
Linux is freedom.
Mac is restriction.
Windows is somewhere in between.

Wine ate my Trilby's Notes and threw up on my Linux.
(I had to restart the computer... stupid thing.)
Note to self: Don't use Wine for tiny, knockoff, cheap graphics, free horror games. Doesn't work very well.
Linux is cool though. :p

I've found pouring wine on my laptop makes it act funny...

Drink the wine; buy a Mac.
Speaking of wine:
A PC on Linux is to a Mac as
Two Buck Chuck is to BV Georges de Latour 1994.
(Edited to correct the spelling of the wine; had to check the label in my wine cellar. Pardon the obvious error.)

Linux works better and is much, much cheaper. And anything a Mac can do regarding Windows apps, a PC can do just as well, and probably better.
And there are better looking PCs out there. The editors of MacWorld confirmed it. Plus, Linux doesn't try to lock you into to anything, unlike Apple.
I love Linux.
