“If now I seek the forgiveness of sins, I
do not run to the cross, for I will not find it given there… But I will find in
the sacrament or Gospel the word which distributes, presents, offers, and gives
to me that forgiveness which was won on the Cross.” (AE 40, 214)
This is my Sophia in her first week at school. For more information about her, check out her Reflection.
She's having such fun, isn't she? I'd say she had a good first week in school. She's three and her therapy is going well. She's working those little legs to gain strength to walk and those muscles in her to learn to talk. She enjoys finger painting in class - both on her clothes and on the paper!
She can't walk yet, but she sure is fast on the ground ROLLING. She's started army crawling, which is kind of cool. But, most times she is "rolling." I just can't get over how fast that girl can move.
She makes sounds to communicate, but can't say words like you and I can. She's always happy, except she gets frustrated trying to communicate to others what she is thinking. We know she's got stuff on her mind, we just aren't always sure what it is (grin). But, we do our best and she lets us know when we are right and wrong (wink).
All things come to us as gift from the Lord, including her first week of school.

Pr. B,
Thank you for such a wonderful, warm post of God's grace in action! You have addressed something has been on my mind for a couple of weeks.
My wife and I are expecting our first child in April of 06. She is only 6 weeks along, but I would be lying if I said that I didn't worry about our child and their development inside of my wife's womb. I pray about it daily. But this post and your reflection on your beautiful daughter has helped eased my mind of my selfish desires and realize that we have a God of love and mercy.
I think I could say that your post and reflection has been an answer to my prayer. Thank God!

She does move fast, she can usually out manuver me when I am at a full run (which is a scary sight and hope that you never have to see it). Sophie is one of the coolest little kids I have ever met, and I am glad that she proved the doctors long and lived longer than six months! She is a blessing to you most certainly!
