Today's News from New Orleans...

Glorious news out of Salem Lutheran Church and School in Gretna, LA!  She's become a hub for many governmental agencies because of her almost perfect location for relief efforts!

Please add Rev Thomas Tews, Ascension Lutheran, Daphne, AL to your prayers.  The roof of his home collapsed in the hurricane.

I received some telephone calls today from congregations wishing to adopted these parishes in New Orleans.  I think this idea just rocks!  It gives me great joy to hear that congregations want to help their brothers and sisters in the Southern District.

If you haven't read it already, Fox News is reporting that the New Orleans Mayor Authorizes Forced Evacuations. This is for health reasons.  This means that it will be a long time before residents of New Orleans get to return to their homes.  Please pray for the relief workers and law enforcement in the area, that the Lord would keep them free all disease and harm.
