Bloghardt's Reflector

“If now I seek the forgiveness of sins, I do not run to the cross, for I will not find it given there… But I will find in the sacrament or Gospel the word which distributes, presents, offers, and gives to me that forgiveness which was won on the Cross.” (AE 40, 214)

Rita's HERE!

Posted At: 12:57am by Bloghardt

Here is the current radar!

She's here! Rita's here! Conroe is on the red line (I-45) that goes north out of Houston a county above Houston.  Look at all that wind and water! Or as we Cajuns say, "Look at all dat winn'n'wadder!"

We went outside before it started raining at 6pm!  The boys and Sophia loved the wind.   You could feel the pressure dropping!  It was so cool! It was also a bit unsettling. It was scary quiet. That's the errie calm before a huge storm.

Galveston and Houston were evacuated.  The news guy who is standing in Galveston talking about the forced evacuation of Galveston has a stretch limousine pass him and he turns and says, "What on earth?"  Welcome to Texas during a hurricane!

My family is sleeping in the den as we wait for the power to go out!  News says that Rita is gonna stall over North Houston (hey that's us!) and dump water (10-20inches).   We are still are projected to get hurricane force winds!  ACK!

No, I haven't stepped outside during the nasty storm and winds....  I'm half way tempted to just for a minute.  I did that at LSU during Hurricane Andrew (Category 5 - 175 mph!) hit while Amy and I were there.  I stood outside Kirby Smith dorm and said to the sky, "This is Category 5?  Bah!  I laugh at you!"

But, I'm trying to live responsibly under my newly adopted WWTD-rule.  "What would Todd (Peperkorn) do?"

WOOOHOOOO! The lights just blinked!  Time to send while I can!

Re: Rita's HERE!

It's a blessed thing to see that Rita dropped a couple notches before making landfall. My prayers are with all in the affected region!
