Bloghardt's Reflector

“If now I seek the forgiveness of sins, I do not run to the cross, for I will not find it given there… But I will find in the sacrament or Gospel the word which distributes, presents, offers, and gives to me that forgiveness which was won on the Cross.” (AE 40, 214)

IMUS to INRI

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." (Voltaire)

Imus shouldn't have said what he said.  He's dead wrong. My concern is...  "When are we stopped from saying 'Christ died for you' or 'homosexuality is a sin' because it makes someone uncomfortable?"

Your concern is very valid and in a twisted way is already occurring.

Come Lord Jesus, Come.

Good grief. Come Lord, Jesus, indeed. Come and save me from your followers who get their news from websites that also include the stories "The good news about nuclear destruction" or "New dog food promises 1-poop-a-week". Websites that advertise books with the tagline "Shooting back: should Christians be armed" and include a picture of a cross made with bullet holes (that brings a whole new perspective to the phrase "Theology of the Cross"). Websites that succeed only by scaring folks into believing "The Others" are out to get them.

And save me from your followers who think that by being respectful to other religions they are being discriminated against.

Save me, indeed.

Whatever, dude.

Here's some advice: Learn how to evaluate and detect reliable news sources -- that's the best thing you can do to make a point and be considered reliable.

Don't get distracted by the link. I don't care about what happened in Australia. I really don't.

The point is about free speech and what is happening today in America.

And your attitude right outta the gate demonstrates my point. Free speech as long as long as it doesn't offend someone...

There is nothing more offensive than the Gospel.

Yes the Gospel offends. It seems like everyone would be offended if each religion exercised their right to free speech. Religions would offend each other, as well as the nonreligious being offended by the religious and vice-versa.

Would that be a lack of our freedom of religion if the Gospel (or other "religious writing") were censored?

just wondering....

(food for thought and chewing upon. Just don't spit it out)

Obviously, you do care what happens in Australia, since you posted the link and insinuated that this will be happening in America soon.

Either you're ignorant of our Constitution and its First Amendment, or you chose your source without evaluting it first. Either way, you're misleading your audience.

The Gospel message isn't censored. If you have been censored for it, contact the ACLU, who has the best record of any organization in protecting First Amendment rights.

I never said you don't have a right to your opinion, or the right to state it. I just said you could use a little bit of education on evaluating sources, and nwo I see also a refresher course on what the US Constitution is...
