Divine Service in Metairie & A New Texan...

Divine Service was celebrated at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Metairie yesterday, it just didn't begin on time.  As they were about to begin service, a truck from Lutheran Charities arrived and needed to be unloaded into their gym.  A group of twelve National Guardsmen, who were working nearby, saw that they were unloading this truck and helped them.  Five hours later, everything was unloaded.  So, the guardsmen and joined the other worshipers around our Lord's words and promises. When we work, we work. When we worship, we worship (smile)

HAPPY NEWS FROM LOUISIANA!

What happy news today coming out of New Orleans...

There is Divine Service in Jefferson Parish on Sunday!  The only Christian Church that is worshiping in Jefferson Parish is Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Metairie, LA.  What unbelievable news!

Glorious news out of Salem Lutheran Church and School in Gretna, LA!  She's become a hub for many governmental agencies because of her almost perfect location for relief efforts!

Email News & Aid to Louisiana

Rev. Michael Scudder, whose name I cannot say without chuckling, called me bright and early Friday morning to inform me that Pastor Philip Miller was safe and sound in the Woodlands, TX.  Thank God!

One of the happiest emails was from Pastor Larry Beane, Associate Pastor in Salem in Gretta, LA, on Friday.  He began by addresssing me as "Father." How could I be

More Information on Relief Efforts...

It's really humbling how many emails we have received asking to give assistance to the pastors, teachers, and laity in the New Orleans area.  The outpouring was very touching.

Pastor Anderson was on Issues' Etc yesterday talking about what's going on in Louisiana.  It was filled with such wonderful Gospel.  Listen here

"How's Your Family?"

In the name of Jesus. Amen.  Sometimes real life takes us and shakes us in such a way that we lose our smiles for an instant and weep with those who weep.  Other times, we get to learn the Gospel from those who weep.
