We are really excited about the speakers that are lined up for the Feast. In fact, we are so excited that we just couldn't fit them all in! So, at this year's conference there will be TWO sets of in-depth sectionals
to choose from! It's like catechesis -- super-sized! Make sure you mark which morning and evening in-depths you are planning to attend. Then, bring your Bible and your Small Catechism, and prepare to be gifted!
The breakaway sectional listing
has now been added. Check out all the options you have!
Catechism Sessions Rev. Peter Bender
The Rev. Peter C. Bender, a 1987 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, has been the Pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Sussex, Wisconsin, since 1991. There he has also been the founder of the Concordia Catechetical Academy (CCA), a society of pastors and laymen dedicated to the promotion of faithful Lutheran catechesis throughout the Lutheran Church. Much of the Academy's work consists of the creation of catechetical materials for use in congregations and the sponsoring of an annual symposium on catechesis held each year in June. Pastor Bender briefly defines catechesis as: "God's way of teaching the new life in Christ and His forgiveness to sinners. Faithfully teaching the Word of God and passing on the language of our holy faith, so that the baptized learn how to receive God's gifts in the Divine Service, how to pray, how to confess, and how to live where God has called them -- in the freedom of the forgiveness of sins, with faith in Christ and love to the neighbor." Pastor Bender is the author of Lutheran Catechesis: A Comprehensive Guide to Catechesis for the Lutheran Congregation and Family
, published by the CCA in both catechumen and catechist editions. Pastor Bender and his wife, Elizabeth, have four sons.
