Wonderful memories for my final night with my youth group before I have to go back to college. Memories like the discussion over John 12:49-50. I said that verse kinda throws off the understanding of the Holy Trinity. To which Padre said "It kinda makes the Father sound like the big dog." Then my big little brother (aka: Mr. Catechism) starts with "The Father is the big dog, the Son is the big dog, the Spirit is the big dog, but there are not 3 dig dogs, but one." My response: "Or a Cerberus." [big cheesy grin]
Then there was Yeager (you know him - the guy who tried to start the wave at the Cards game during DtBL) saying "Simon Peter just needs to shut up" in reference to John 13:8-9.
I won't pretend to be as profound as some people, but I have this to say. We discussed tonight how Jesus was free to wash his disciples' feet. He didn't have to, He didn't do it for their approval, but He did it because He could. Earlier in the chapter it said that "Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God." So what does the man who has everything do? He washes his friend's feet... because he can.
Remember my moral dilemma about two weeks ago? Where I was having difficulty choosing a career? Despite thirty people telling me that I have the freedom in the Gospel to do whichever career I choose, it kinda made since after this. I have Christ name on me, I am a co heir in the Kingdom of Heaven, everything that is His is mine. If he can wash Peter's feet, why can't I do what I like with my life - With the obvious exception of being a pastor or prostitution  That doesn't mean I've decided what to do with my life, but it gives me a little peace of heart as I head back off to college and work towards a degree I may or may not use in the future.
Thanks YPS for my memories as I leave you again! It's been a great summer! I love yall and will miss yall very much!

when i hugged you last night i kinda teared up...but then i realised what i was doing and i sucked it up.i have an evil persona to keep in check.. im gonna miss you erin!!!!!

Only the Son of God an be that free as to wash His disciples feet. All things were His...
You are a child of God in Him. You are that free too.
