Gas gone, food gone, traffic at a dead stop for nearly 150 miles, windows boarded, ply wood in a shortage, no tickets available at airports, every gas station is nearly, if not sold out of gas...a town with over 57.247 (as of 2000) being mandatory evacuated. Being from Conroe,. which is just north of Houston, Hurricane Rita has me a bit freaked out, to say the least. Being here at college is not helping because I know that as Rita hits land, contact with those that are still there, is going to be difficult if not just downright impossible. My mom emailed me, and told me that there is no gas anywhere in town, and another friend said the same thing. [ read more ]

EVERYONE is freaking out over the hurricanes - first Katrina, now Rita. My family lives north of Houston, I'm a bit concerned. But I'm trying, trying, not to worry. Baptizatus Sum. I know. But the prospect of my family and friends potentially having to withstand a hurricane is still a bit unnerving.

Upon seeing The Exorcism of Emily Rose, many MANY thoughts came to mind afterward. I went into this movie knowing or just basically assuming that the theology was going to blow chunks.
