"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in
return." - Moulin Rouge
Ewan McGregor's "in-love" look made Moulin Rouge for me. To
be loved and looked at that way he looked at the woman he loved was just
overwhelming.
The Notebook does it so much
better, and without Nicole Kidman (who should never sing in a movie again).
The passion, dedication, and sacrifice this movie portrays SoOoOoo beats even
Ewan's dreamy eyes.
Wow.
Rent it tonight. Have tissues handy.

Sniff. Sniff. Sniff.
It was a great movie, but Revenge of the Sith was better ;).

I'm still struggling with Madre referring to Ewan's eyes as "dreamy"........
After DTBL when I see Sara again, I'll rent it though. ;-)

I'm having a real whopper with Ewan McGregor as "dreamy," 'cause I just equate him with Sir Alec Guiness now, and I don't think I could ever picture him being refered to as "dreamy."
Indeed, you must see the "Sith," and I can guarantee the need for tissue there as well.

Ewan is yummy and worthy of a dip in the new and impoved chocolate pool (after the last one was stolen...)
never saw the notebook, but i really don't like make-me-cry chickflicks.
MUST SEE SITH!!!! (and you call yourself the dark queen.....):)

I loved Moulin Rouge - it is better than the Notebook in my opinion. The Notebook was good, but rather on the corny side for my taste. Plus, Rouge not only has Ewan McGregor, but it has him SINGING. Very Well! ;o)

I haven't seen Moulin Rouge or the Notebook, but I'd very much like to...
I have, however, seen Sith and Ewan, while not exactly being "dreamy" in it, is extremely cool and it DOES make you cry...
I need to hear him sing...

Moulin Rouge, while being insanely sound bite-esque, had two redeeming scenes that made sitting through it worthwhile. The first was Ewan and Nicole's "Love" scene, and the second was the dramatic climax of the movie with Ewan professing his love in front of a sold out theatre.
I will admit Ewan's singing was both surprising and excellently performed. His vocal range and clarity made his major scenes very entertaining. "Love is a many splendored thing."" Love lifts us up where we belong." Having been myself a part of a performing stage choir, I appreciated all the love song references. And maybe... just maybe, Ewan singing about love leant itself to his eyes being dreamy.

The Elephant Medley is great, as is the opening Sound of Music scene. I'm also a big fan of the extended tango dance scene to Sting's "Roxanne". And who knew men could do Madonna's "Like a Virgin"? Ewan's vocal talents FAR outweigh Nicole's. For more Ewan singing, check out the closing credits of "Down With Love" with Renee Zellweger. Of course, he's also got the dreamy eyes in Big Fish too. What can I say, he does well with the romantic roles.
Baz Luhrmann also directed Romeo + Juliet starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Daines. An interesting "update". Anyone else seen it?

For a completely reworked setting, Romeo + Juliet was an amazing presentation of Shakespeare's finest. It was very well done and it portrayed all the emotion you might expect from the play. You dont hear many people mention it now a days, but Im glad you did. I enjoyed it a lot. Now I might have to go rent it.
