Women and the Scriptures

I was recently in Texas where I hunted wild boar (and supposedly got one on
my first time shooting a gun EVER, but once Reed couldn't find where he ran off
to in the dark that night, he never went and looked again).
I also attended a birthday lock-in for Bloghardt at which he decimated a
happy, innocent, clown pinata with a baseball bat. (FYI, Walmart pinatas
don't have candy in them. What's up with THAT?)
And I got to have breakfast with Landon Reed, the Bloghardts and Miss Sophia.
But most importantly, I spoke at a Lutherans in God's Word (LiGW) workshop at
Zion Lutheran Church in Tomball on the issue of Women and the Scriptures.

I will have scouts checking the woods this week. Next time will use a bigger gun! Beware single men she knows how to use a gun now. 
Anyway the paper was great, the women in attending really got a point of view from Madre that is rarly found. Also from someone who's been there and back.

There is indeed much to rejoice in with Sandra's presentation, Women and the Scriptures. Getting this very same message into the ears of more women has been a goal of mine ever since I also presented it in August 1997 at the Texas Confessional Lutheran Conference in Brenham, TX. The text of that essay, "Men, Tell The Women Who They Are" has been available at the TCL website since then. It was also published by CN that same year. Sandra and I have discussed it many times on various email forums, too.
My own essay was hardly anything new, as the copious references in it will testify. What I presented in Brenham is merely what the church believes, teaches and confesses. It is good to hear another voice continuing to speak forth the same message so that more and more women can hear the truth of who they are in Christ. It is only when women know who they are as created, redeemed, and sanctified women in Christ that they will know what they may do according to His Word.

It seems the Lord Jesus has given each generation the gift of someone like you.
Now, if we could only figure out who this "vicar" she speaks of and where he got his theology back in 1998. (smile)
