Madre's Missives

Inadvertent and Occasionally Intentional Thoughts

So I go to the Christ on Campus conference this past week, representing Lutherans in God's Word (LiGW), Higher Things, and myself as a member of a campus ministry congregation, University Lutheran Chapel in Minneapolis, MN.

Great conference -- learned a lot...

Broke my brand spankin' new laptop.

As I was rushing through Minneapolis airport security on Monday, I had my laptop case open and was putting my laptop into the little bin thingy when the old man behind me, clearly NOT paying attention to what I was doing ahead of him in line, slipped his cowboy hat into MY bin.  I quickly jerked back my laptop and in so doing lost my grip and it slipped out and crashed to the terrazzo floor.  The entire line of people waiting to go through security gasped, then groaned, in unison.  It no longer boots or can even read the hard drive.  That's BAD.

Thank God someone recommended that I get a Dell with the super-duper-mega-warranty where I could dump a milkshake into the keyboard, drop it off a 3 story balcony, and drive over it a few times and Dell would fix it for free ASAP.

So tomorrow, now that I'm home, the DHL courier boys will come and get it for me and take it to the Dell depot for fixing.  And if all goes well, I'll have a perfectly functioning laptop by this time next week.

I love it when warranties pay for themselves right away...

You should have let Zill and I run over that laptop with the PT Cruiser. If it's gonna go back to Dell anyway, why not send it in pieces........

Maybe I should've. Then he'd have something to post about on his blog.

Oh wait. He doesn't do that...does he?

Now now.... being the Confessional Pastor of the year, Madre, takes a considerable amount of time...

Dells are awesome, for a Windoze box anyhow. Blogger Smiley Sounds like you got your money's worth. I usually find I break things right after the warrenty is up. ;)

Speaking of the Confessional Super Pastor... is it me, or is Zill the post modern day Luther?
