When they die, most people just get put in a casket lowered into the ground. Some are buried at sea. Others are cremated. Recently, there was news about the option of having your ashes incorporated into a diamond. That gives new meaning to handing down grandma's diamond from generation to generation!
Tonight, a late ELCA pastor went out with a bang. Some of Rev. Gordon Bergin's ashes were used as packing material in a shell designed to burst into cross-shaped formations in the sky over Marine on St. Croix, MN.
"All the more power to you, to come up with a creative way to go out," said Christina Morrison, 22, a bartender at Brookside Bar and Grill. "Whatever makes you happy."
