Kinda like Lazarus, only...not.

So this guy in Oregon has terminal lung cancer and gets his doctor to help him kill himself (it's legal there, doncha know...) in late January with a supposedly lethal dose of medication because the suffering was so unbearable
Only he woke up after about 3 days, fully coherent and pretty annoyed that he wasn't dead, according to his wife.
"Two days after Prueitt woke up, he told his wife he had been in the presence of God, she said. By her account, Prueitt said God had rejected his death by suicide and sent him back to live out his days and die a natural death."
13 days waking up, he died from natural causes related to his cancer.

that'll teach them to mess wth God's plan. He'll take you home when he wants to, not when you try to go there yourself. just one more example of how you can do NOTHING to get into heaven.

i never thought of that as playing God. Makes sense though.
but in all understanding on that mans part, iyou have to see someone like that to fully understand why they would want to end it. The pain and suffering... its just easier sometimes.

It's stories like this that make me wonder what kind of medicine the guy was trying to kill himself with. No offense, but that story did not have an ounce of gospel in it. I just don't believe it.
But if you do believe it, here's something interesting. In theory, he did commit suicide:
"After waking up nearly three days later, he remained alert and talkative, she said. He chatted by telephone with his brother Steve and friends. Occasionally, he asked for water or cigarettes."
Cigarettes. Lung Cancer. Go figure. If anything, I guess God just wanted him to pick one plan of suicide and stick with it.
