December 23, 2013 - Monday of the Fourth Week of Advent

I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.   And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him. (Deuteronomy 18:18-19)

December 22, 2013 - The Fourth Sunday of Advent

John answered them, saying, “I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know.   It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.” (John 1:26-27)

December 21, 2013 - St. Thomas, Apostle

So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” (John 20:25b-26)

Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? December 18, 2013 - Wednesday of the Third Week of Advent

I believe in God, th e Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. What does this mean? ...He defends me against all danger and guards and protects me from all ev il. All this He does only out of fatherly, divine goodness and mercy, without any merit or worthiness in me. For all this it is my duty to thank and praise, serve and obey Him. In that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book, And the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness. The humble also shall increase their joy in the  Lord, And the poor among men shall rejoice In the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 29:18-19 )

"All the kings of the nations, All of them, sleep in glory, Everyone in his own house; But you are cast out of your grave Like an abominable branch, Like the garment of those who are slain, Thrust through with a sword, Who go down to the stones of the pit, Like a corpse trodden underfoot. (Isaiah 14:18-19)

"O  Lord, I will praise You; Though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me. Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For  Yah, the  Lord , is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’” (Isaiah 12:1-2)

"Behold, the days are coming,” says the  Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; a King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.   In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely; now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” (Jeremiah 23:5-6)
