Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; All nations shall serve Him. (Psalm 72:11 from the Introit for the Epiphany)

January 3, 2013 - The Tenth Day of Christmas

In the Name + of Jesus. Just what is murder? One definition is that it is the taking of a human life when God has not given you permission. He gives permission in some callings to do so, for example in law enforcement or the military. But to take someone's life in anger, or planning it out, or the life of an unborn child or an old person who seems to be suffering, in such cases God has not given us such permission.

January 2, 2013 - The Ninth Day of Christmas

Merry Christmas in the Name + of Jesus. Amen. What better time than New Year's to make a resolution to be nice to your parents! What better time to turn over a new leaf and start honoring them like you should! No more arguing over everything. No more ignoring them when they tell you to do something. No more loud sighs and whining when they ask for your help. How about it? Stop dishonoring and start honoring them! Good luck with that! Knowing the Fourth Commandment forward and backward still won't make you keep it. The law is like that. It tells you what to do but doesn't give you any help to do it. And when you fail, there's nothing but condemnation.

December 19, 2012 - Wednesday of the Third Week of Advent

In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. There's a whole lot of wrong you can get from people preaching the Scriptures. The Third Commandment doesn't teach us to love God's Word because it's a rulebook or a guide book for life. We don't love God's Word because we can find some good business principles or because it's an alternative to our science textbooks. No, the Third Commandment teaches us to love and gladly hear God's Word because it's all about the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

December 12, 2012 - Wednesday of the Second Week of Advent

In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. The Name of Jesus. That's a good Advent story. Before Jesus was born, the angel told Joseph to keep Mary as His wife and take care of her child. He would be born and Joseph was to name Him “Jesus” which means “Yahweh, the Lord saves.” In the Old Testament, God told Moses His name is “Yahweh: I AM who I AM.” The Hebrew name “Yashua” (Joshua in English) means “Yah(weh) saves.” Joshua in Greek is “Jesus.” Right there. His Name means that He saves us from our sins.
