Anan's (not-so) Randomness!

No quotation marks... We wouldn't want to seem too uppity, now would we?

The Daily Democrat, Johnstown, PA., Friday, March 14, 1930

Erik found this newspaper in a box of junk. 'tis quite interesting. Of course the title is kinda suspect but this was 77 years ago.

"Women in the News: Miss Cigi Teodorescu has been selected as the most beautiful girl in Roumania and is all ready to enter the international beauty contest being staged in Texas. Miss Cigi, judging by her pictures, is very easy on the eyes. Her name, however, is a tongue twister. Perhaps she permits her friends to call her Cigi for short.

Smith college girls go gaily bicycling to their classes. Autos for weekend trips but bycicles for daily use, is their formula. As for the rest of us, it is a case of 'can you remember when' you saw a comely maiden on a bicycle?

William C. Gates and his son, Richard, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, managed between them to marry ten women in various parts of the country. The elder Gates had seven wives, while the younger one had only managed to accumulate three. Both confessed philandering, but neither one filed any formula that revealed their wooing methods.

MIss Janet Eastman, a Texas (woot...) blond, took first prize in the miami beauty pageant. She was one of the few blonds entered. Perhaps southern gentlemen still prefer them."

Hehehe.
