I'm addicted!

Posted On: July 10th, 2007 at 8:59 am

"To what?" you ask... "Many things" is my reply.

#1 : TEA! I've been drinking three cups a day. THe temperatures are in the 90s! Why on earth am I drinking hot tea? I geuss I'm just crazy.

#2: The Phantom of the Opera!!! I could watch it two times a day but as it is I only squeezed it in three times in the past week. Blogger Smiley When I can't watch it I sit down at the piano and practice the music. I made my brothers watch it yesterday while we snapped beans. At first Martin cried and said how much he hated it but after a while he was crying again because Mom was trying to get him to come help with something else.

#3: Harry Potter! Yes, I'm in it's clutches. I'd forgotten how funny that book is. I had also forgotten why I like Dumbledore so much. Why does he have to die?!?!? ::sniff:: I realized that he goes "Ahem" before saying things that might annoy certain people. I often do that as well...

I'm becoming more and more excited about For You every day. Last night I had several nightmares about getting there late and forgetting to register. <shudder>

I'm supposed to be getting ready to go to the lake and cleaning the house so... bye for now!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Annabelle. The ablazing flames of your previous post were making even Death Valley hotter, and this new blog post of yours is much cooler. I'm tickled pink that you're enjoying the Phantom of hte Opera so much. I guess you may already know that one of the Rhein girls used to be in love with an earlier version of that same story (can't remember now if that was Amanda, Naomi or Margaret; which is terrible of me, but my memory isn't what it used to be!).

I have to confess that I don't understand the hot tea thing, but to each her own. I do know what you mean about Harry Potter and Professor Dumbledore. I'm all pins and needles and goosebumps waiting for Deathly Hallows. In the meantime, the fifth movie is on the verge of coming out, which is also quite exciting. Such a summer.

And you have For You to look forward to, on top of everything else. Lucky! I did get to have lunch with Pastor Borghardt on Sunday, which isn't the same as going to a conference, but we did talk about HT stuff. Not sure if that counts, but it's as close as I get this year.

Have a great time at the lake (or, as I suppose is now the case, I hope you did have a great time at the lake!).

When you have the chance, you'll have to explain the "Lai Low" signature. I think I get it, but it perplexed me at first. Clever. Mwahaha.

It was Naomi as a toddler, and it was the really, really old silent B/W version. At that point in her life, Vati still only spoke German to her, so she only knew the title in German. The only word she could get was 'Gespenst' (phantom, literally 'ghost'), and even that got garbled as only a toddler could do. It sounded like 'Spence'. So every day she would ask to watch Spence. How could I resist such a cute request??!!

Thanks for the clarification, Mrs. Rhein.

It makes me feel better that I would have guessed Naomi. Maybe I should trust my memory more than I do. Usually, when I do, I get it wrong (or so it seems to me).

Certainly, I could not have said no to such a cute request. Perhaps Naomi should share the movie with Saranita, now that she has a cute little person of her own.

Ooh, I've been pretty addicted to tea recently, but that's ice tea and only since I invented a couple different ways to have our coffee maker make Texas sweet tea.
