Anan's (not-so) Randomness!

No quotation marks... We wouldn't want to seem too uppity, now would we?

Well... I don't know really.

Posted At: 11:44pm by Anan

As far as the whole Stephen's College thing goes... We don't know of any church in that area that is um... Of the Emmaus variety. That (as I stated before) is a big issue.

Also I would be missing four whole stinkin' school years of said Emmaus services! Not only does this harm me, but also all the poor people of Emmaus who rely on my presence. Because they just want to be happy. Right girls? What, I ask you, my faithful readers, will these people do in my absence? I surely hope that they will not bodily perish, but there seems to be some potential for that! I don't want to murder them!

So I must offer my sincere apologies now, because... who knows? Maybe I won't want to apologise when I actually leave because then I wouldn't be able to make myself go! <is being just a little silly>

<waves arms and backs away slowly> Please no more soup-supper food! I don't think I can handle it any more. Yes, I'm scandalous. Get over it.

(Hey, Pasto'... this is one of those self-conscious posts) I'm not sure how I'm doing lately. Either I'm bouncing around and waving my arms or I'm leaning on the walls and falling asleep. It's really strange. I'm not sure it I'm actually unaware of the cause or not... meaning that maybe I DO know why, but I'm afraid to admit it to myself. Hmph. Luckily I don't have people following me around and asking me how I'm feeling, at least not usually. I wouldn't know how to answer them.

We're going to visit Stephens College the weekend of March 7th and 8th. They're having a "fashion weekend" and it sounds awefully awesiome. Like it isn't right for it to be so cool. Mom talked to the head of the fashion department, and now I have an adoptive mother waiting in the wings. :p My "aspiring mother" said that its very likely that I would test out of freshmen sewing. <gasp> Can you imagine a college course on sewing? Wowwww... I had never thought that such a thing could exsist! Of course I'm afraid of thinking about college classes much at all.

I still don't like the idea of being so far away. I'm accepting $100 bills, even some tens! (To buy that private jet...)

Sandra Boynton

Posted At: 10:52pm by Anan

I just finished listening to Blue Moo. (Several times...) Suddenly the epitome of coolness is singing in the shower, and my new goal in life is to teach a hippo to dance. I have a strong urge to take all of my siblings and go march through the grocery store shouting “We’re the Uninvited Loud Precision Band!” The singing in the shower song makes me think of somebody, but I won’t mention names.  In other words I’m very happy.

Another Sandra Boynton CD; “Rhinoceros Tap” has a song called “Tropical Sand”, which I enjoy despite my love of heat etc… I have my reasons.

You like Hawaii where the oceans roar. You like Bermuda with the pink, pink shore. You like Aruba where the palm trees sway. You like Montego with its beautiful bay. You like the tropical sun and the tropical sea. But hey, mon, Alaska sounds good to me.

Refrain: I got the sand in my toes and the sand in my nose, the sand in my ears and the sand in my clothes. I got the sand in my hair and the sand in my face. I got the sand most ev’ry place.

You like the tropical birds in their tropical flight. I get the tropical bugs with their tropical bite You like to be playing in the sun when it’s hot I wish I could find me some shade where it’s not. You tell me the islands are very very pretty, but me, I find them…a little too gritty.

There’s another verse but you should just listen to it. :D

PINK!

Posted At: 10:03pm by Anan

This is the official "Valentine" template. Aint it cute? I think so. :p

There's nothing like spending Valentines Day with your 5yo brother. We made a snowman together. "In the meadow we will build a snowman, and pretend that he is Parson Brown". Well actually Benjamin named him "Max". I gave Max a handspun scarf, baseball hat, crazy twig hair, a grocery sack (stomach), car keys (to a FAST, shiny car of course), and a gun. Max is taller than me. Yup. Lots of fun.

Random news: My favorite song of late is Missing You By Allison Krauss.

This day wouldn't be complete without pictures of an awesome red dress. So here it is: (Yes, I know the picture is the pits...)

And the bodice! (Another crummy picture...)

Ok. So it's cooler in person. But I happen to be all alone so I can't really show it to anyone. Hmph.

Strange...

Posted At: 8:00pm by Anan

...So after dinner I started "waltzing" around the Great Room (Great Rum?) with my water glass and singing what I know of that song from Sleeping Beauty. The one where they're dancing around in a forest. Martin said something like "She's going crazy!" and I had to agree.

I just thought y'all might appreciate that. Gaaaaaah! The smileys won't work! ":-|  Work! ":-|  Hmph.

Stephens College

This place is pretty awesome as far as I can tell. It even has a vintage fashion library!!! <can't breath> But... it's in Columbia MO... Could we start a Christ on Campus ministry there??? Puleeeze??? :p It's garunteed to be pretty feminist since it's a ladies college, and I couldn't survive that without a good church in the area. Did I mention that it's girls-only? (How great is that? Hehehe...)

I'm pretty much just dreaming at this point, it doesn't really mean anything.

Oh and I haven't had much of a chance to experiment with the PFAFF... <sniff> I did get to put in a zipper!! It was really exciting.

News Flash!!!

Posted At: 9:00pm by Anan

I, Anan have fosaken the not-so beloved Mr. Husqvarna Viking 990 for the handsome, German, Mr. PFAFF Expression 2038. I know I'm fickle. But what's a girl to do, when the former was so very SLOW and ANNOYING?

Mr. Viking has refused to sew zippers for about a year now. Who could love such a machine? (Even though he *is* Swedish...) He is/was tense in all the wrong places and ate bobbin thread like candy.

On the other hand we have Mr. PFAFF who is brand spankin' new, loves zippers, and is just plain-old FAST and DREEMY. I haven't had much of a chance to get to know him, but never fear! I shall update y'all regularly.

(No, it isn't fair that I got a computer and a sewing machine in one week... get over it!)

Random Stuff (duh...)

Posted At: 2:35pm by Anan

Read this, and you shall see that there are people out there who are just as crazy as I am.

I'm debating over whether or not I should make that perky dress (the one with the stripes) with some crinkly black fabric I have... I have other sewing I need to do first. <sniff>

I've been going through all the obnoxious college info emails I've gotten so far (Agent Delta says it's just the beginning...), and I'm slapping myself. I put "music" as my intended magor on the PSAT so now I'm getting stuff from all sorts of colleges who offer majors in music. Jesuit school anyone? None of that helps with figgering out the Fashion Design thing so I need to do something about *that*. <grumblemumble>

I had some extraordinary fun with the Stove go- I mean the wood stove this (:p) morning... The whole house smells of smoke. Yippeeee.

Mischevious ebay bidding is on my agenda for today. Hehehe. <bounces away>
