Saranita Kay Kavouras is now out and about in the world!
She was born at 5:02 am today, a nice healthy 7 lbs 3 oz. She is, indeed, a girl.
It was a long night for poor Naomi! She went to the hospital early afternoon yesterday, her doctor wanted to induce labor because Naomi had very high blood pressure. As of 10:30 last night things were "moving along" and it sounded like September 26th would be the day. Saranita apparently had other plans!
I'm glad I went to bed at 2:30 because I didn't get the official call until just a few minutes ago (Rachael, Bethany, Lynea -- please don't kill me for not poster earlier! I couldn't help it!).
Mrs. Rhein said that Naomi is on bedrest in a high-risk unit because of the blood pressure medication. She hasn't had a lot of time with her baby besides the initial holding/feeding, but apparently Nick (the DAD!) has gotten to spend time with the little squirt.
I think that those are all the highlights. I'll keep y'all updated if anything else happens. At the moment everyone seems to be doing fine, and they are all anxious to get to know Saranita!
Congrats Nick and Naomi!!!! You are PARENTS!
