I love Thursdays! They come after Wednesday (another one of my fave days!) and currently I have Thursday's off from work, so they feel like Saturdays.
Thursday at DtbL was awesome! If you were there, you already know what went on, and I'm going to leave most of the day to T1 and T3.
I would just like to comment on Thursday night after Evening Prayer. If you were in Reinert you probably heard shouts of "TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!" and if you were out of your room you surely spied a group of individuals wrapped in bed sheets. That was also the evening that quite a few people gathered in the ballroom. Some people where dancing, some playing games or talking, and some just observing.
I was exhausted, so I mostly watched everyone else and chatted with a few people. Mostly adults.
I LOVED that there were adults there! And I don't mean youthy-type people 18 and up. I mean honest-to-goodness GROWN-UP people who are, like, parent and group leaders and even PASTORS! Even MY Dad! How cool is THAT?!?!?!
It really struck me that we really are WEIRDOS! Seriously, where else are you going to find a group of teenagers and their parents all hanging out together and having a *GREAT* time? Most "normal" teenagers that I have experience with think of hanging out with adults one of the dorkiest, boringist things ever. (Is boringist word?)
Maybe I just watch too much TV and I'm being over judgemental, but as far as I can tell, a typical modern-day teenager thinks parents (and other authorities) are lame. I don't think there are many people my age who actually get EXCITED about haning out with adults. Personally, there are a lot of adults that I would choose to spend time with before a group of teenagers! (Though, part of that probably has to do with the fact that many of these adults act like teenagers. . . )
Well, this post is turning out to be very Stuckwischian (aka LONG), so I will bring my babbles to a close:
Adults - at least the totally awesome, Lutheran, HT, MH parent types - are SAVAGE!

I'm inclined to think that we just keep better-than-average adults around... or they keep us... or something. :-P

I guess that means I'm not "square" for liking to hang out with my mother. (See, Pr. Fickel?!) Or , if I am, I'm in really good company. :o)
Our adults just rock.....

Posts like this make working for Higher Things worth every minute! What impresses me about HTs is that adults and teenagers (who are really adults in training) can hang out together as fellow sinners justified for Jesus' sake and be ourselves. Truly, we are weirdos!

The other half of it is that you all are really *fun* *cool* teenagers. : )
Our teens just rock. ; )
