Bluegrass and Jesus

One thing I love about bluegrass is how easily and naturally it incorporates themes of the faith without sounding forced or contrived. The text and tune are perfectly wed too. And it plays on the Tonight Show!

Here's another great example.

I am amazed at how similar our tastes in music are. I've been a fan of Alison Krause and Union Station for a long time. Thanks to you, I've also become a fan of the Kansas City Chorale. If you haven't picked up a copy of "Grechaninov - Passion Week", you don't know what you're missing. I miss our musical collaborations, but they provide fond memories, especially during the Christmas season.

AK-US is a recent obsession of mine. Just got the two CD live recording. Most awesome. I'm making up for lost time.

Yeah I miss our guitar picking, vocal harmonizing sessions back in Tulsa. We need to carve out some time and a plane ticket and get the old six-string tuned up for a little "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" Gatlin Bros. style.
